1. Who we are and what this is
Stump.run ("Stump", "we", "us") is operated by Stump Run LLC, a Florida limited liability company. You can reach us at admin@stump.run.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Stump Run LLC for using stump.run, the campaign sites we host, and the admin console (together, the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these Terms.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Stump for a campaign, school, or organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to do that.
2. What Stump does
Stump is software for anyone running for an elected or contested seat. That includes government offices, school boards, homeowners associations, and nonprofit boards.
Each customer account is a "campaign." Every campaign gets a public campaign site and a private admin console for managing content, volunteers, endorsements, and events.
Educators and organizations can also use "Slate" to create and manage a group of campaign sites, such as one site per student in a class.
3. Who can use Stump
You must be at least 13 years old to use Stump.
If you are under 18, you may use Stump only under the direction of your school or educator, as described in the Classrooms section below.
You must give us accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at admin@stump.run if you think someone has gotten into your account.
4. Free trial, approval, and going live
New campaigns get a 30-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
A campaign site goes live on the public web only after it is paid for and approved by us. We may decline to approve or publish a site that breaks these Terms.
5. Plans, billing, and refunds
_Draft note: this section was changed on October 10, 2026 and still needs attorney review._
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and charges and remits sales tax. When you pay, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms for that purchase. Cancellations and refunds follow Stump's own rules below.
As of the date above, a campaign costs $49 per month, or you can prepay through the month of your election. A campaign's first purchase gets 20% off the prepaid price when at least 2 full months remain before the end of the election month; otherwise the prepaid price is $49 for each month. Current prices are always shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
Paid campaign access ends automatically at the end of your election month.
After your election month, you can choose what happens next. Keep Warm and Full Access can be bought starting the day after your election month ends, are billed monthly, and can be cancelled any time.
- Archived (free): your site shows a simple "This campaign has ended" page and we keep your data until you ask us to delete it. This is what happens if you choose nothing within 7 days after your election month ends.
- Keep Warm ($10 per month): your homepage stays online and editable. Other pages and features are turned off, and their data is kept.
- Full Access ($20 per month): your full site and admin console stay available.
A custom domain stays connected on Keep Warm and Full Access. When paid access ends, we disconnect it and your site stays at its stump.run address.
Monthly plan. You can cancel any time from the Billing panel in your campaign dashboard, or from the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then ends. We do not give partial refunds for a billing period that has already begun.
Prepaid plan (paid upfront through your election month). You can request cancellation at any time with the Request cancellation button in the Billing panel of your campaign dashboard. Your refund is the amount you paid, less the regular monthly price ($49) for each calendar month that has begun, and never less than zero. If you cancel before the 1st of a month, that coming month is not counted. We issue the refund by hand through Lemon Squeezy. Your site stays live until the refund is issued, and then your prepaid plan ends.
If we change prices, the change applies to new purchases and renewals, not to a period you have already paid for.
6. Your content
Your campaign owns its content. That includes your text, images, positions, and the volunteer and supporter lists collected on your site. You can export your content and lists from the admin console.
You give us permission to host, store, copy, display, and process your content only as needed to run the Service for you, including publishing your site, sending emails you ask us to send, and keeping backups. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in routine backups for a limited time or where the law requires us to keep them.
7. Your responsibilities as a campaign
You are solely responsible for your content and for how you use the Service. In particular, you are responsible for:
- Following all election and campaign finance laws that apply to you, including any required "paid for by" or similar disclaimers on your site and materials.
- Getting any consent required by law before you email, text, or call volunteers and supporters, and honoring requests to stop.
- Making sure you have the right to use everything you post, including photos, logos, and endorsements.
- Making sure endorsements you display are real and that the endorser agreed to be listed.
- Any analytics or advertising tools you add to your site, as described in section 10.
Stump does not review your site for legal compliance, and approval to go live is not legal advice or a statement that your site complies with the law.
8. Things you may not do
You may not use Stump to:
- Break any law, or help someone else break one.
- Post content that is defamatory, fraudulent, or knowingly false in a way that is unlawful.
- Impersonate a candidate, official, organization, or anyone else, or falsely claim an endorsement.
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone, or try to discourage people from voting.
- Collect personal information from people without telling them how it will be used.
- Send spam or unwanted bulk messages.
- Upload malware or try to break, overload, or get around the security of the Service.
- Access another campaign's data or admin console without permission.
- Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
9. Volunteer and supporter data
When people fill out forms on your campaign site, such as volunteer sign ups, your campaign decides what to collect and how to use it. For that data, your campaign is the "controller" and Stump Run LLC is the "processor." We store and process it on your behalf and follow your instructions, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect and use that data, for telling people how you will use it, and for responding to their requests about it.
10. Tools you add to your site
Campaigns can add their own Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta Pixel to their published site. If you do, those tools are your responsibility. You are responsible for any notices or consents they require, and their use of data is governed by those companies' terms, not ours.
11. Classrooms and students
Educators and schools can create campaign sites for students.
Students under 18 use Stump under the direction of their school or educator. The educator and school are responsible for getting any parent or guardian consent required, and for meeting their obligations under FERPA and other student privacy laws.
We do not sell student data, and we do not show advertising to students.
12. Political neutrality
Stump serves candidates of any party, and of no party. We do not endorse any candidate, party, or position, and hosting a campaign site is not an endorsement.
13. Our property
Stump, its software, design, and branding belong to Stump Run LLC. These Terms give you the right to use the Service while your account is active. They do not give you ownership of the Service or the right to use our name or logo without permission.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
14. Suspending or ending accounts
You can stop using Stump at any time. To delete your account and data, email admin@stump.run.
We may suspend or remove a site, or close an account, if it breaks these Terms, puts other users or the Service at risk, or if the law requires it. When we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and export your data.
Sections that by their nature should continue after an account ends will continue, including sections 6, 7, and 13 through 18.
15. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Stump running well, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, and we are not responsible for the outcome of any election.
16. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Stump Run LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost votes, arising from your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
17. Your responsibility for claims
If someone brings a claim against Stump Run LLC because of your content, your campaign, how you used volunteer or supporter data, or your breaking these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, including reasonable attorney fees.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Any dispute related to these Terms or the Service will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a claim, please email us at admin@stump.run so we can try to resolve it informally.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will give account holders notice by email or in the admin console before it takes effect. Continuing to use Stump after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
